My Technorati Profile
I just finished setting up My Technorati Profile (along with about a dozen other social networking Web site profiles).
What is Technorati?
Technorati is an RSS directory at the most basic level, but it is without a doubt one of the most important RSS sites on the Web for driving targeted traffic back to your blog. Scores of Internet users search Technorati for blogs of a specific subject, and many are themselves bloggers.
When other users come across your blog they can add it to their favorites, link to it, or subscribe to your RSS feed. This alone will generate a substantial amount of free, highly targeted traffic for your blog. That is what we’re all after, free, highly targeted traffic.
Once you register your free account with this service, you should immediately claim your blog(s). This is Technorati’s way to add your blogs to their search and RSS directory. That is part of what I’m doing by writing this post.
You’ll be able to give your blog a title and description, and enter tags that you post about on your blog. The best thing about this is each time you make a post on your blog from here forward, a keyword optimized link to your post will appear on Technorati’s Web site!
You’ve got to love this site. If you own a blog, you owe it to yourself to use Technorati, or you are missing out in a big way.
And if you don’t own a blog, you should go and start one immediately.
